Nancy O'Dell began her broadcast career as an anchor and reporter at WPDE-TV which was located in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Later, she worked at WCBD as a morning anchor and crime reporter. When she was in Charleston O'Dell's reports regarding the police's lenient approach towards DUI cases led to the launch of a State Law Enforcement Division investigation that led to State authorities issuing the strictest guidelines regarding the cases. In the year 2000, Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell the Best Report of the year Award for every aspect of South Carolina media. O'Dell's experience in Charleston has led to her serving as co-anchor, investigative report and NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Before becoming a part of Access Hollywood she was a co-anchor on weekdays as well as the weekend anchor for NBC. O'Dell's current role as host for Access Hollywood is complemented by her contributions to NBC News Today, Dateline NBC, and NBC News. She's covered events like The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards in addition to hosting the Pre ShowArrivals shows at The Emmys. In addition, she hosted for the Miss USA pageant and the Miss Universe pageant.
